Pre-Game & Warming Up ✔️Limit warm-ups: Keep pre-game warm-ups under 5 minutes. ✔️ Include everyone: Do not just drill with your partner; share the balls with opponents during warm-ups. ✔️ Tap paddles: Tap paddle faces or handles before the first serve to show good sportsmanship. 2. During Play ✔️ Call the score clearly: The server must call the entire score loudly before every single serve so everyone can hear it. ✔️ Respect line calls: You call lines on your side of the net. If a ball is 99% out but you are unsure, it is in. ✔️ Do not overrule: Never call balls "out" on the opponent's side unless they explicitly ask for your help. ✔️ Control your paddle: Avoid slamming paddles, throwing gear, or yelling profanity after a bad shot. 3. Safety First ✔️ Call "Ball On!": If a stray ball rolls onto your court from another game, immediately yell "Ball On!" and stop play. Replay the point. ✔️ Return balls carefully: Do not blindly hit or kick a stray ball back to another court. Wait for a break in their play, make eye contact, and toss or bounce it to them softly. ✔️ Do not cross active courts: Never walk behind an active game to get to your court. Wait until their rally finishes. 4. Recreational & Open Play ✔️ Be welcoming: Open play means playing with people of all skill levels. Do not avoid lower-rated players. ✔️ Don't "peg" beginners: Avoid driving hard, aggressive shots directly at less experienced players. Use open play to practice your soft drop shots instead. ✔️ Follow the paddle rotation: Respect the local queue system (e.g., "4 on, 4 off" or stacking paddles). Step off promptly when your game finishes. 5. Post-Game ✔️ Meet at the net: Win or lose, walk to the net immediately after the final point to tap paddles and say "good game." See you at the court!
