𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗷𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟬𝟭 & 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 🀄️ New hobby, new faces, same table. We're not just teaching mahjong. We're building your next friend group. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: we used to think mahjong was inaccessible too. It felt like one of those hobbies reserved for people who knew someone who knew someone. The kind of game played behind closed doors, passed around through invitation, family, and friendship. Then we met a madame who grew up at a mahjong house, who welcomed us into her home, sat us at her table, and taught us the game. What started as curiosity became a hobby. Then a community. 𝑵𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅. Mahjong 101 exists because someone opened a seat for us, and we want to do the same for others. We've taken what we learned and built a circle of guides who help new players discover the game, practice together, and find their own table. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐡𝐣𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭. 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬. So we built the table for you. 𝑁𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑜𝑢𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑑 𝑎 𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑒? Perfect. We start with chicken hand. All you need is 4 sets and a pair, and you've got mahjong. 𝐴𝑙𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑠? We've got a seat for you too. Intermediate players are grouped together and may skip Mahjong 101 entirely. Once enough players arrive to complete a table, you can begin playing immediately while the beginner workshop is ongoing. We're not all experts. We're all players who want to share the fun. What to expect: •A beginner-friendly lesson on Hong Kong 13-tile chicken hand, taught step by step •Dedicated intermediate tables for players who already know the basics •Open Play after the lesson, at tables of four •Intermediate tables may begin immediately once a full table is formed •An ambition tiles option for intermediate players •A relaxed, social afternoon with zero pressure to be good •No gambling.
