Week 4 of 6: Half Volley
Caught in no man’s land with the ball at your feet? The half volley is how you survive the transition zone. Learn to take the ball right off the bounce, keep it low and keep moving up to the kitchen.
🎯 What you’ll learn
• Half volley mechanics: short backswing, quiet paddle face, lifting through the ball
• Getting low with your legs instead of bending at the waist
• When to split step and when to keep moving forward
• Common mistakes like swinging too big or popping the ball up, and how to fix them
👥 Who it’s for
Beginners to intermediate players who struggle to get from the baseline to the kitchen and want to handle low balls with more control.

Skills Lab teaches you the shot. Fundamental Drills is where you make it stick. It runs straight after this session and focuses on rolls and half volleys, so you can put what you just learned into practice while it’s still fresh. We highly recommend booking both.
