We all start as beginners. And if you’re anything like me, you probably want to improve a little faster so you can enjoy longer rallies, play more confidently, and eventually become part of stronger games. I’d like to share some of the things I’ve learned through my own coaching sessions and open-play experiences. I’ve been consistently playing tennis since March, and I’ve had about eight coaching sessions so far. In terms of experience, I still consider myself a beginner. But several players have told me that I’m already playing somewhere around the lower-intermediate level. That tells me one thing: there has been progress. And when you make progress, one of the best things you can do is help someone who is just a few steps behind you. Tennis is not always the easiest sport to get into. Compared with many other sports, it can be more expensive, finding available courts can be difficult, and getting regular coaching is not always accessible. So I thought, why not share what I have learned? I’m inviting newbies and low- to mid-beginners to join me for a Peer Training + Open Play Session. I call it peer training very intentionally because I am not a tennis coach, and I am not pretending to be one. I’m simply a fellow player who has spent a lot of time practicing, getting coached, playing open plays, making mistakes, correcting them, and gradually improving. And to be very clear, if you have the means and the opportunity to work with a professional tennis coach, I would definitely recommend doing so. A qualified coach can assess your technique properly, identify habits that may be holding you back, and give you structured instruction that peer training cannot replace. This session is simply another way to learn, practice, exchange ideas, and gain more court experience, especially for players who are still finding their way into the sport. Along the way, I’ve made noticeable progress in my: 🎾 Serve 🎾 Volleys 🎾 Poaching 🎾 Forehand and backhand groundstrokes 🎾 Doubles positioning and court awareness For our first peer-training session, we’ll focus on just three areas: 1. Service Improvement We’ll work on some basic principles that can help you develop a more consistent and reliable serve. 2. Forehand and Backhand Footwork Because sometimes the problem isn’t your stroke. It’s where your feet are before you hit the ball. 3. Doubles Fundamentals We’ll talk about positioning, movement, communication, and understanding where you should be on the court. And for a first session, I think that is already plenty. This is not about pretending we’re advanced players. It is about learning together, practicing deliberately, asking questions, making mistakes, and becoming a little better every time we step onto the court. So if you are completely new to tennis, still learning how to rally, or beginning to understand how an actual game works, this session is for you. You don’t have to be good yet. You just have to be willing to learn. We all start somewhere. The goal is simply not to stay there. 🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾 HOW TO JOIN AIEPRO TENNIS ACTIVITIES 1.
