CLASS E TOURNAMENT (Newbies & Beginners) SUNDAY, September 13. 📍Robinsons Magnolia (main entrance) STARTING TIME: 1:00 PM (you can come early to warm up) PAYMENT FIRST - 300 pesos RULES & REGULATIONS 1. TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY 1. The tournament is open to players who qualify under Class E / Beginner-Recreational level. 2. Players must register using their real name and provide accurate information. 3. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to verify a player’s playing level and eligibility. 4. Players who are clearly above the designated Class E level may be reclassified, disqualified, or removed from the tournament at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. 5. A player may be asked to provide their previous tournament history, rating, ranking, or playing background for verification. 2. PLAYER CLASSIFICATION A Class E player should generally be a beginner to developing recreational player. Players may be considered ineligible if they: * Regularly compete in higher-class tournaments. * Have an established rating/ranking significantly above the Class E level. * Regularly train or compete as an advanced/elite player. * Have a history of winning or consistently placing in higher-level divisions. * Misrepresent their playing level during registration. Final classification shall be determined by the Tournament Committee. 3. TOURNAMENT FORMAT 1. Matches will follow the format announced by the Tournament Committee. 2. Recommended format: * Singles: Best of 3 games * Game: First to 11 points * Win by: 2 points 3. Depending on the number of participants, the tournament may use: * Round-robin/group stage * Single elimination * Double elimination * Combination of group stage and knockout rounds 4. The Tournament Committee may modify the format when necessary because of the number of participants, venue schedule, or other circumstances. 4. SCORING 1. A game is won by the first player to reach 11 points, provided the player leads by at least 2 points. 2. At 10–10, play continues until one player gains a 2-point lead. 3. The server changes every 2 points. 4. At 10–10 and thereafter, the service changes after every 1 point. 5. Players must keep track of the score and confirm the score before serving. 5. SERVE 1. The serve must follow standard table tennis serving rules. 2. The ball must be placed on the open palm of the free hand. 3. The ball must be tossed upward before being struck. 4. The server must not intentionally hide the ball from the receiver. 5. Illegal serves may be called by the official, umpire, or designated tournament referee. 6. Players are encouraged to ask the official for clarification rather than argue during a match. 6. EQUIPMENT 1. Players must use an approved table tennis racket and ball. 2. The Tournament Committee may provide the official tournament balls. 3. Players may use their own racket provided it complies with the tournament’s equipment requirements. 4. Players are responsible for bringing their own playing equipment unless otherwise announced. 5. Any damaged or unsuitable equipment may be rejected by the Tournament Committee. 7. MATCH PROCEDURE 1. Players must report to the designated playing area before their scheduled match. 2. Players should be ready at least 10–15 minutes before their match. 3. Once a player’s name is called, they must proceed to the assigned table immediately. 4. Players who fail to report within the tournament’s designated grace period may receive a walkover/loss. 5. Players must not leave the venue during their match without informing the official. 8. FAIR PLAY & SPORTSMANSHIP All players are expected to: * Respect opponents, officials, coaches, organizers, and spectators. * Shake hands with their opponent after the match. * Avoid abusive, offensive, or threatening language. * Avoid intentionally distracting an opponent. * Avoid deliberately damaging equipment or facilities. * Accept the decisions of the referee or Tournament Committee. * Play fairly and honestly at all times. 9. PROHIBITED CONDUCT The following may result in a warning, point penalty, game penalty, match forfeiture, or disqualification: * Verbal abuse or harassment. * Threatening or intimidating another player. * Deliberately throwing or damaging a racket. * Kicking or damaging tables or venue equipment. * Repeatedly delaying play. * Deliberately distracting an opponent. * Cheating or intentionally violating the rules. * Falsifying player information or playing classification. * Fighting or physical misconduct. * Unsportsmanlike behavior. 10. TIME-OUTS & BREAKS 1. Players should not take unnecessary breaks during a match. 2. Any medical or emergency break must be approved by the referee/official. 3. Excessive or intentional delays may result in a penalty. 11. DISPUTES & APPEALS 1. Players must raise concerns during the match whenever possible. 2. Players should remain respectful when questioning a call. 3. The Tournament Committee/Referee shall have the final decision regarding tournament disputes. 4. Arguments, shouting, or confrontational behavior will not be tolerated. 5. Decisions made by the Tournament Committee regarding player eligibility and classification are final. 12. WALKOVER / FORFEIT A player may be declared the winner by walkover if the opponent: * Does not appear for the scheduled match within the allowed grace period. * Refuses to play. * Is disqualified. * Leaves the match without approval from the official. 13. PLAYER SAFETY 1. Players must wear appropriate sports clothing and non-marking indoor shoes. 2. Players should properly warm up before playing. 3. Players must immediately inform an organizer if they experience an injury or medical emergency. 4. The Tournament Committee may stop or postpone a match when necessary for player safety. 14. TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE 1. Players are responsible for checking their match schedule. 2. Match schedules may be adjusted by the Tournament Committee when necessary. 3. Players must remain available when their next match is approaching. 4. Schedule changes announced by the Tournament Committee must be followed. 15. CLASS E INTEGRITY RULE The purpose of the Class E division is to provide a fair, competitive, and enjoyable environment for beginner and developing players. Players are expected to register in the appropriate division and respect the spirit of the tournament. If a player is found to have intentionally entered Class E despite being significantly above the intended level, the Tournament Committee may: * Reclassify the player; * Remove the player’s results; * Forfeit the player’s matches; * Disqualify the player; and/or * Restrict the player from future Class E events. 16. ORGANIZER’S AUTHORITY The Tournament Committee reserves the right to: * Modify the tournament format. * Adjust match schedules. * Verify player eligibility. * Resolve disputes. * Penalize unsportsmanlike conduct. * Disqualify players when necessary. * Make decisions not specifically covered by these regulations in the interest of fair play, safety, and the smooth operation of the tournament. 17. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES By registering for the tournament, every player agrees to: “I have read, understood, and agreed to follow the Rules & Regulations of the Class E Table Tennis Tournament. I understand that the Tournament Committee has the authority to enforce these rules and make final decisions regarding disputes, eligibility, and player conduct.” ⸻ 🏓 PLAY FAIR. PLAY HARD.
